These Home Computer Network Support Pages

A major difficulty in producing these pages and the original presentation was that Microsoft made significant changes to the way Windows XP sets up networks and Internet connections when compared to earlier Windows versions. As anyone setting up a Home Network will most probably integrating a range of Windows systems both old and recent - it is necessary to cover these differences.

Most of these support pages will be the same in content as those presented during my original talk of 4th May 2005 - but with additional explanatory text where necessary. You will also find pages here that were not presented because of time constraints - or have been since added in the light of questions raised. These support pages are now near complete - but the process of adding pages is ongoing - so a few are still marked as 'draft pages'.

I have now included a survey withing the following support pages both to help identify future needs and improve these pages. Please spare five minutes to provide me with feedback. The survey form can also be used to mail me.

These notes have been optimised for viewing with a screen resolution resolution of 1024 X 768. Resolutions greater than this will result in smaller images being displayed.

Note: Presently Wireless Networking is not covered in any detail in these support pages as I have no direct experience. I had the embarassing experience of having a Wireless PCMCIA card bought for our Notebook - as a present - then to find that there wasn't a slot. I had failed to notice that the owners manual covered more than one model. Whoops - egg anyone?

Please spare a moment and complete my short Home Networking Survey This is of particular importance if you will be attending - or have attended this talk.
