Whilst am am not doing a one name study, I am considering setting up a COWING interests index This would permanently put all of the COWING interests in one place. In England and Wales during the 1800's there were an average of 10 COWING births registered each year. If this number has remained stable, then to date, there will have been about 1600 birth registrations in England and Wales since the official records began in 1837.
Judging by the news groups, there are not many people researching COWING so I would not expect anything like that number, even worldwide. If anyone has any thoughts regarding this please mail me .
I presently have about 90 COWING relatives (including living) in my database - and many other believed to be related but not yet linked. The UK & European Privacy laws are such that I would be unwilling to record or release details of living people - without their express written consent, other than those freely available from public records.
